EPW - Antoine Moilliet & Cie a Genève, verge fusee quarter-hour repeater with superb polychrome enameled case, 55mm, OF original pair cases, gilt brass outer case with glazed rear having domed glass protecting enamel scene of inner, pierced for sound transmission, 18K gold consular inner case with split pearl set bezel, rear with exquisite enamel scene of a pair of lovers seated beside a tree, "Julie" signature to tree above man's hand, elegant enamel and gold decorative perimeter elements outside rear scene, signed white enamel dial with winding aperture at 2, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#1195. Gross weight of assembled watch 77.6 dwt (120.6 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good repeat function, inconsistent repeat tone with strikes frequently having muffled tone likely due to seating of mvt within case needing attention as discussed below in case comments, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, few fine scratches; dial with patched chip adjacent winding aperture, small patched edge chipping near 2; excellent hands; outer case shows light wear, gilt loss along high edges, good domed glass rear crystal; inner case needing attention to seating of its inner ring (the interior portion of case which holds the mvt, this portion of case is secured by a small screw at lower edge) as this ring is lifting up from inner body of case along upper left side, this lifting of inner ring is causing case to not snap closed, is affecting mvt's seating relative to repeat bell, and is necessitating caution for opening and closing of mvt ring to avoid possibly lifting inner ring out of case entirely, inner case shows hardly any wear, band with some small dings, soldered repair visible to upper rear of band behind pendant, pearls fully intact to bezel, rear enamel is substantially intact with soft enamel repair at upper perimeter and small soft enamel repair at upper left perimeter; tight bow; good domed glass crystal.
